Technical Support Engineer

Job Title: Technical Support Engineer

Reports to::  Technical Manager

Job Purpose:To maintain and prep equipment efficiently and to the highest possible standards

Hours

Our normal operating hours are 9.00am – 6.00pm Monday to Friday.  However this position requires a certain amount of overtime after 6.00pm weekdays and working some weekends as business demands.  Therefore a certain degree is flexibility is essential.

Skills and Qualifications required
  • You must be able to fault find lighting systems and equipment quickly, logically and efficiently.
  • Basic electronics and PCB knowledge required.

The successful candidate must have perfect spoken & written English, good interpersonal skills and discretion with confidential information. You must be able to work well on your own and within a team and be able to work on your own initiative. You should have good communication skills and should be able to organise and prioritise tasks effectively. You must be able to work with people at all levels of the business and have the ability to remain calm and professional at all times.

You must be computer literate and have intermediate experience of Microsoft office products, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • To service and repair assets belonging to HSL Group and provide full reports into the fault finding and repairs processes undertaken. These items will include but are not restricted to the following.
    • Moving lights
    • Consoles
    • Generic lanterns
    • LED Fixtures
    • Distro’s and dimmers
    • Rack and comms equipment
    • Motors and rigging equipment
  • Perform any hardware or software upgrades deemed necessary to HSL equipment.
  • To investigate any re-occurring problems with equipment and compile reports for the Technical Director
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the Technical director
  • To maintain a clean, tidy and organised working area at all times
  • Use only approved tools and software to complete upgrades and repairs
  • You will be expected to personify and uphold the service and support standards of HSL

When necessary you may also be required to.

  • To source and order any parts required to keep HSL assets functional
  • Provide technical support to the various departments of HSL, our clients and freelance technicians either in house or onsite.

Distro Technician

Job Title: Distro Technician
Reports to:Head of Cables
Job Purpose:To maintain and prep equipment efficiently and to the highest possible standards
Hours
Our normal operating hours are 9.00am – 6.00pm Monday to Friday.  However this position requires a certain amount of overtime after 6.00pm weekdays and working some weekends as business demands.  Therefore a certain degree is flexibility is essential.
Skills and Qualifications required
You must be a self-motivated and focused individual with a strong work ethic. You should be organised and orderly with the goal to continually assess and improve your work. Flexibility in your outlook towards hours will be required as the job will entail some late finishes and early starts during busy times. It is important that you are able to prioritise your workload and work well to deadlines

Responsibilities

Ensure all equipment is maintained and prepped to the given standards and procedures.
Inspect all equipment to ensure compliance with relevant statutory regulations
Maintain your work area in a clean and orderly state.
Ensure walkways are kept clear of obstruction.
Compile equipment lists in accordance with the printed Hiretrack lists.
Notify your line manager of shortages of equipment or consumable items at the earliest opportunity.
Ensuring all items of equipment have HSL asset numbers.
Monitor the safe working environment for all personnel or visitors passing through your areas of jurisdiction.
Accurately complete daily work sheets.
Ensuring, cases, racks and bars associated with equipment are clean and well presented.
Ensure cases are clearly and accurately marked
Complying with all company health and safety instruction. Particularly manual handling.
Undertake other tasks as directed by the Head of Cables or Deputy Head of Cables.
